Terms and conditions for attending a session
Our terms and conditions for participants attending a paid research session.

Information provided
Please note you have been invited to take part in this session based on the information provided to the recruiter. If the information later proves to be false/incorrect, you may not receive your incentive. In addition to this, should any of this information change before your research session, you must inform us of these changes within 24 hours of the session taking place, or as soon as possible. Failure to let us know of any changes to the information supplied could result in you not receiving your incentive.
Cancellation
If our client cancels the research project for any reason outside of our control with more than 24 hours’ notice given, then you will not receive your incentive. If a client cancels with less than 24 hours’ notice of your session, your incentive will be honoured.
Personal data:
- Anything you say during the session will remain private and confidential, unless the client specifically asks for your permission in a consent form. Any audio and/or video recording will be stored in accordance with our clients’ own data retention policies and in compliance with current data protection legislation.
- If you are asked for any further personal data, our client must ask for your explicit consent before the session begins. If the client asks you to use personal data and does not explain clearly why and what this data will be used for, then you have the right to decline to give consent. Any personal information our clients use once the sessions have started is subject to their own privacy policies, alongside current data protection legislation.
- If People for Research’s client (the organisation you are taking part in research with) ask for any contact details directly from you, People for Research can not guarantee that you will be incentivised for any future research you agree to take part in.
- Your personal details are not passed onto third-parties unless you have consented to this in any consent form supplied by our clients.
- When you attend paid research and share your data with a client, the client is the Controller of your data. This means PFR does not have access or control over this data. If you are not asked to complete a consent form by the client running the research, and you wish to request the deletion of your data, contact People for Research so we can provide you with the details you need.
Purchasing goods during research
You will never be asked to purchase anything in the context of research unless you have consented to this during the screening process.
Incentive payment
PFR will request your bank details for BACS incentives payments during the recruitment process and will require this information to be submitted 24 hours before the research. Please note, if PFR does not receive the details needed to process your incentive in the 3 days after the research session takes place, we will automatically send you an Amazon voucher equivalent to the original value of your incentive. This will be sent to the correspondence email address we hold for you. All voucher purchases are final, therefore once sent this cannot be withdrawn.
During the research
- Please wear reading glasses to the session if you need them.
- Please ensure you have photo ID with you during your session.
