Testimonial: dog lover Emily and a paid discussion on pet food

As a nation of dog-lovers, we were overwhelmed by the response of our online community when we had a project about dog food last year. Emily was one of the lucky ones chosen to take part in a paid market research session, where she was able to share some feedback on her canine’s food.

Following the session, she got in touch with us to say what an enjoyable session she had; she had “never realised how much there was to know about dog food”!

Emily is a trainer by day, and so she assumed the research session would involve a presentation and perhaps a facilitated discussion, as she is used to with formal training sessions. She was pleasantly surprised when it turned out to be a very informal, yet organised session, where free discussion was encouraged.

She said that “the welcome was warm and after the initial ‘yikes, I don’t know anyone’, it was fine!”. We asked Emily why she decided to take part in this particular research. She says:

“I am a huge dog lover and owner of an ever-hungry Labrador. I saw the advert for dog owners and it really caught my eye. I had never done anything like this before, but was interested to see what the views of others were, as well as offering my own thoughts.”

Making a difference

Emily loved the light-hearted atmosphere and open discussion; overall, she felt like she had taken part in a very relaxed market research session with like-minded people. The fact that Emily was paid to take part was a real bonus for her!

To sum up the session, we asked Emily what she’d tell people considering getting involved in paid research with us: “give it a go! You never know, your contribution might make a difference!”.

There’s no denying that taking part in these sessions makes a huge difference to our clients, who really do want to hear your honest feedback. By sharing her knowledge on dog food during the paid market research discussion, Emily has helped out fellow dog owners and their pups alike! We’re sure her “ever-hungry” Labrador will be eternally grateful…
