Testimonial: how Craig helped a famous betting company

When you see a paid feedback session is up for grabs involving one of your favourite pastimes, it’s a no brainer. So when Craig from London was selected to take part in his perfect opportunity for an online betting company, he certainly felt like his luck was in!
Having been a customer of the betting company for a decade, Craig knew a thing or two about using their online betting service and was thrilled to spend his afternoon discussing his thoughts to steer future change.
What made you apply for the paid research project you took part in?
I only ever apply to projects I enjoy personally and have a substantial knowledge or understanding with regards the project. I have used the company involved in the research for about 10 years and like to bet on the football and the horses – criteria filled!
What did you expect before the session?
You never know what to expect – you might have a brief understanding of the project requirements but, until you get there, you know only what is in the project requirements, which is a good thing.
How did this compare with your experience?
The project turned out to be simply my thoughts and opinions on new changes the betting company will be introducing in the near future. It was excellent! It was a one-on-one scenario and, if you hit it off with your facilitator, you’re going to have a good time, not to mention experience something that you personally have a hand in developing!
We actually ran over the hour, but I could have spent the afternoon there, as time flies by when you’re in project mode.
What did you enjoy most about participating?
I enjoyed meeting the people involved. I knew I’d been selected personally for a project and that’s why I choose specific projects, as I’m hoping to contribute meaningfully in a small part to the process before it’s finally presented to the population. That’s a pretty good feeling on a wet Tuesday at 12pm!
Is there anything we could have done differently?
If there is anything People for Research could do to improve or streamline the whole process of selection and suitability for projects, I’d be pleased to know what that is. People for Research are a professional company running like a well-oiled machine to make sure people like me get there in time and are fully aware of what’s required. You are only a message or phone call away, should anything manifest out of the blue or for any concerns about the project.
What advice would you have for anyone who has not taken part yet?
My advice to anyone who’s thinking of taking part in a project is to go for it. You don’t know what you’re missing – you’ve been specifically chosen by professionals from your application and you’re going to chat with people and discuss your opinions. Enjoy yourself – you won’t believe you’re walking out an hour later with money in your pocket.
“One word of warning – don’t register for a project you know nothing about! You won’t have a very good experience and it’s all about sharing your points of view and opinions thoroughly, having a laugh most times and getting paid for doing so. It’s great, you’ll be surprised!”
Giving your opinion to those in a position to make changes happen is a rarity. In fact, we’d say the odds are not in your favour. Getting paid to do so is gold dust. Craig found his golden opportunity, now it’s time to find yours!
