Testimonial: Jane's experience with business research

One-to-one interviews can seem intimidating to anyone, let alone someone who is new to taking part in paid research or testing opportunities! We regularly post feedback from those who take part for the first time, to show you that getting involved in paid research isn’t as scary as you may think, and business owner Jane from Bristol agrees with us. We were recently looking for business owners, and having founded her company JumpStart, Jane jumped at the opportunity to share her experience of business research with you!
What did Jane’s business research session involve?
Jane’s research session was all about what she does best: business! When asked what her research session involved, Jane describes it as “a chat with the interviewer, then a simulated filing of accounts online – giving feedback and answering questions whilst working through the process”.
These business research sessions often mean you will get an inside look at some fantastic new technology, so you can find out about new features and online tools before your competition! It’s beneficial for both parties, as feedback like Jane gave during her session, can really help companies to develop their product or service.
How did Jane feel before, during and after the research?
A concern that we encounter regularly from those who take part is whether their feedback is going to be what the researchers are looking for. Jane agrees, saying that she was unsure whether she would be able to “provide the kind of information they were looking for”. Having said this, Jane says the researcher conducting the session was “really helpful” throughout the whole research. Thanks to this, Jane felt relaxed throughout and was happy that she had “helped other CICs, present and future, by taking part”.
This should be the case for any session you get involved with! The researcher will ensure that they help you throughout the session, as they did with Jane, asking questions and gathering all the information that they need. There is no right or wrong answer!
How did Jane find the overall experience with PFR?
When asked about her overall experience working with us, she said:
“It was very informative – I knew exactly what was expected, when and where. Everyone was also really friendly and helpful.”
Jane also said that she would “definitely” recommend us to friends and family – just what we like to hear. Hearing feedback from people like Jane means we can continue to understand more about what you enjoy about getting involved, as well as any areas for improvement.
