The importance of showing up for your research session
Here are three reasons why it's important to show up for your paid research session or complete your online task.
1. The process of finding suitable participants is a long and complex one.
It can take weeks to find the perfect people to take part in a project. We never operate on a ‘first come, first serve’ basis or lucky dip, choosing blindly from those who apply. Our project managers filter through the responses by hand and select those with the most suitable answers to match exactly what we are looking for.
2. We chose you from a long list of people who wanted to take part in the paid research.
Getting selected to take part in research or testing does not happen for any given project you apply to. You will only be selected if you perfectly match the research criteria, so missing a session or ignoring an invite to complete a task is not something to be taken lightly – you may not get another chance to get involved for some time.
3. Missing a research session could have big consequences for the development of a product or service.
Your session could be on anything, from testing a new sports app, to discussing your experience of the UK legal system. Missing a session or not completing your task could mean the researchers miss out on your valuable feedback and, in some cases, delay changes to improve the product or service you were chosen to test.

Our team spends a lot of time finding the most suitable people to take part in each project. We understand that, sometimes, life just gets a little hectic – you may forget about your session, you get busy, you double book us with something else, you get ill… There are so many reasons you may not be able to attend, and we absolutely get it. All we ask is that, once you know you are unable to attend, you get in touch with us via email, text or phone. We may still be able to find a replacement, even if it’s on the day of the research – the more notice you can give us, the better!
To make it quick and painless for you, we make sure our contact details are easy to find, no matter where you are. Our website and emails always contain our contact information, and we always pick up the phone – no waiting on hold either, you’ll go straight through to a member of our team.
Don’t worry, we’ll remind you too
We always email you the day before the session to confirm you are still available and willing to participate. We will also ring you on the morning of the session, just to make sure nothing has cropped up last minute!
Please don’t be afraid to let us know if you do need to cancel. If we know as soon as you do that you won’t be able to attend, we may still be able to replace you with someone else, who previously missed out on being invited to take part.
