What kind of paid research do we recruit teachers for?

If you have been a regular visitor of our website or follow our social media pages, you may have noticed that we often post about looking for specific professionals or people working in certain industries to take part in paid research. One of the groups we get asked to find quite often are teachers, so today we’re sharing a bit more about some of the past projects that the teachers in our community have taken part in.

We went back on our archives and realised that we have recruited hundreds of teachers across dozens of projects for some well-known clients. We found some examples of interesting projects these education professionals took part in and what they were asked to provide feedback on, so we thought we would share with you to give you an idea of what you can expect from future projects.

📚 Recruiting language teachers to test a digital toolkit

One of the older projects we found in our archives. For this one, we were tasked with finding a mix of teachers who taught English at private companies, teachers who taught English to young students and teachers who taught adults for a project with a multinational educational company. They were asked to test a digital set of tools to help plan their lessons in a more engaging and efficient way.

📚 Recruiting ESL educators to test a digital tool

For this one we had to find English as a Second Language (ESL) teachers who used a learning management system to assign homework or interact with their students, for example. They were asked to test the mobile version of a prototype.

📚 Recruit English teachers to test a lesson planning tool

Before COVID-19 forced all research projects to go remote, we were tasked with finding primary and secondary English teachers for face-to-face research sessions. Our client was looking for professionals who used a presentation tool to share digital content with their class.

📚 Mix of teachers and students to test a recruiting tool

This was an interesting one, as most of our projects with teachers involve the professionals testing education-related tools. In this case, we found teachers and teaching students that were available to test a recruiting tool targeting these professionals.

📚 Mix of education professionals to complete an online task

This one is a bit different from the previous projects we mentioned. For this research opportunity, we had to find quite a few teaching professionals to complete a short 15-minute online task without any help from a researcher. They were asked to share their feedback on the user-friendliness of a web menu related to classroom furniture and equipment.

📚 International educators

As our community of participants starts to expand to other countries besides the UK, we have also been asked to find groups of international teachers and teaching students in different countries. One of the projects we did this for involved finding teachers that wanted to relocate to the UK, for example. On a different occasion, we found teachers who were responsible for conducting tests as part of their job and familiar with technology – they were invited to take part in interviews with researchers about driving digital innovation in schools/education.

As you can see, education-related paid research can be quite broad and we are always on the lookout for teachers and teaching students to join our community.
