Testimonial: Keira shares her feedback about paid research

To celebrate this year’s Business Women’s Day, we had a chat with a member of our community to get her perspective on what it was like to take part in paid research with PFR. Cardiff-based Keira Evans is the owner of Candy Goblins and she answered a few questions about her experience.
During the research session, Keira was asked to use our client’s advertising platform and help them see how real customers would use the service. “I gave feedback on how clear things were and, if I were using the service, where on the website I would go. During the session, I was on a call with the researchers, with the webcam on. I was asked why I clicked on certain things and what I liked and disliked.”
When asked if taking part in research was beneficial for her business in any way, Keira said: “I feel like it gave me a clearer idea on how to use those specific ads. I’d never used the service properly before then, so it was really good! I later ran an ad campaign with them due to the experience. I felt like it really helped me understand how to set up and work with them to run campaigns.”
And how did it feel to share her opinion with our client? Keira loved the experience and said the researchers were lovely: “even when it seemed like I was getting off track, they were very friendly and interested in why I made the choices I did.”
The importance of feedback
Regarding her own business, Keira can’t stress enough how important customer feedback is. “Without knowing how my customers feel I wouldn’t be certain in what products I should go ahead and produce,” she shared with us. At Candy Goblins, the entrepreneur usually runs behind the scenes photos on her Instagram stories – “the polls on there are a great way to get feedback!” Keira runs these polls twice a week and will even get customers contacting her off her social media polls to share their feedback and opinions.
Before saying goodbye to Keira, and today being Business Women’s Day, we asked what piece of advice she would give to someone – but especially to fellow female entrepreneurs – starting their own business.
“Learn as much as you can! There are so many free resources out there and so many people who will want to help. See what your university or the government can offer you. Take advantage of every scheme you can and you will learn so much. The rest is just giving it a go and being brave!”
